Rachel’s Specialty Areas

Rachel works with adolescents, college students, and adults who experience challenges related to relationships/attachment, anxiety, self-esteem, intense emotions, shame, depression, post-traumatic stress and complex trauma, grief and loss, and life transitions. Rachel understands the challenges her clients face when managing these symptoms and her goal is to support them in gaining a deeper understanding of their lived experiences and enhance their ability to effectively manage their emotions.

Rachel’s Therapy Approaches

Rachel draws from several modalities in her work, including Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) & Psychodynamic approaches, Narrative Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), all of which are rooted in trauma-informed care. Rachel finds that a balance between process-oriented approaches and skills acquisition can be effective for clients looking to process their experiences and make changes in their lives. Above all else, Rachel values therapist-client connection as she has seen strong therapeutic rapport lead to client empowerment and change.

Rachel’s Training & Experience

Rachel holds a License in Clinical Social Work (LCSW) and is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP-II). She earned her Masters in Social Work (MSW), a Home and School Visitor (HSV) Certification, and Certificate in Organizational Leadership all from the University of Pennsylvania. Rachel has completed intensive trainings in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy. She continues to receive education in Emotionally Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Psychodynamic approaches.
